Dulbecco’s phosphate-buffered saline (DPBS) contains potassium chloride, monobasic potassium phosphate, sodium chloride, and dibasic sodium phosphate; or contains calcium and magnesium. DPBS is a balanced salt solution used for washing cells before dissociation, transporting cells or tissue samples, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents.
Hanks’ Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) contains potassium chloride, monobasic potassium phosphate, sodium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate and D-glucose; or contains phenol red. HBSS is used for washing cells before dissociation, transporting cells or tissue samples, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents.
PBS (phosphate-buffered saline) is a balanced salt solution used for a variety of cell culture applications, such as washing cells before dissociation, transporting cells or tissue, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents.
